We are committed to providing quality eye care to you and your family.
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure and a retinal exam.
At Alta Loma Optometric Center, our doctors are trained and licensed to diagnose and manage any eye condition, including glaucoma, as well as cataract, macular degeneration, diabetes/diabetic retinopathy, dry eye/ocular surface disorders, and many, many others.
Our optometrists will also coordinate care with other physicians such as primary care physicians or other specialists. Patients requiring surgical procedures such as cataract, LASIK, or glaucoma surgery can be co-managed with the appropriate specialty surgeon.
Dr. Morton and our associates strive to maintain close relationships with many of the best physicians and surgeons in the valley.

Our office is equipped with a full-service spectacle lens finishing lab. We have a large inventory of spectacle lenses and prescriptions, and if the lens and prescription is in stock we can modify the lens blank to fit your selected spectacle frame within minutes.
Comprehensive eye examination should, in fact, be performed before the age of 1 year, at age 6-12 months or sooner if an infant exhibits symptoms.
Early examination detects potential problems that can lead to learning and developmental issues later.
Consider these statistics:
1 in 10 children is at risk from undiagnosed vision problems.
1 in 25 will develop strabismus (commonly known as crossed eyes) a risk factor for amblyopia.
1 in 30 children will have amblyopia (often referred to as lazy eye), a leading cause of vision loss in people under the age of 45 years.
1 in 33 will have blurry vision due to near-sightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism, and will need to wear glasses or contact lenses.
1 in 100 will have or be at risk for eye diseases such as glaucoma.
1 in 20,000 children have retinoblastoma (intraocular cancer), the seventh most common pediatric cancer.
At Alta Loma Optometric Center, no one is too young to have their eyes examined.
We maintain a huge inventory of contact lenses and welcome any and all challenging (or routine) contact lens fittings. Just remember that a comprehensive examination is required first, and contact lens services are in addition to comprehensive exam services, so additional fees are required.
Please call for a list of general contact lens fees for services, but please keep in mind that an EXACT quote cannot be given prior to a comprehensive exam. Our doctors of optometry can fit any contact lens that is manufactured, including specialty contact lenses such as bifocals, multifocals, and keratoconus lenses.
People with keratoconus know how frustrating it is to get sharp vision, and often times have been unsuccessful and repeatedly frustrated. We are saving a seat for you at Alta Loma Optometric Center! You have many alternatives.

Refractive eye errors are extremely common. They occur when light that passes through the eye isn’t refracted directly onto the retina, which is the light-sensitive patch of cells at the back. This causes the signal that is sent by the retina to the brain via the optic nerve to appear garbled, and this causes our vision to appear blurred.

For those patients needing glasses or contact lenses, we offer a complete optical department. Since your prescription can be filled at the same place it was written, you will not only save time and travel, you will also have the security of knowing the doctor who wrote the prescription is available to answer questions. Our office is staffed with experienced opticians who specialize in high fashion eyewear and carry an assortment of designer frames.
Glaucoma, the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment in the United States, is an eye disease that can lead to a permanent loss of vision. Glaucoma generally provides no warning signs or symptoms of disease, making testing an important part of a full vision exam.
Macular degeneration, commonly referred to as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), is the single largest cause of sight loss in the developed world and affects more than 10 million Americans. It usually affects people over the age of 60 but has been known to affect those who are younger.
An eye disease that is caused by diabetes is currently the number one cause of blindness and vision loss. Due to the increased risk in diabetic patients, doctors recommend that people over 30 with diabetes get an annual dilated eye exam. Diabetic patients under 30 should get this exam five years after they have been diagnosed.
While dry eye isn’t a serious condition, it can have a major impact on your quality of life. You may find your eyes get tired faster or you have difficulty reading. Not to mention the discomfort of a burning sensation or blurry vision.
